From User to Builder

Building Durable.

Hey Durable team, my name is Dylan. My goal? To help scale Durable and small businesses around the world. Let me show you how I'd drive the next wave of growth and share with you who I am.

Why Durable, Why Me?

In 2021, I started building a consulting studio focused on sustainability. Lengthy days of learning to use website builders, setting up CRMs, and juggling marketing, amongst other systems, took a ton of time and energy away from the work that needed to be done. Durable is exactly what I wished I had and what I needed. Now, with the impending generational wealth transfer (including millions of small businesses), Durable is poised to win this market and create strong, durable businesses built for the future. The time is now and Durable is paving the way to ownership.

Grit

I do not quit when things get hard, I double down (unless we've exhausted options). Whether this was building my consulting studio in the late nights after work at Blackstone or getting our 1-month-old startup in front of Colgate's c-suite for a lighthouse partnership after hundreds of "no's," grit is in my nature.

Compassion

I fundamentally believe in people-first; without a strong team, nothing is possible. This means that I lead and live with empathy in my work and my personal life. When I was building my consulting studio, I scaled to a team of 14 remote interns and peers which required this approach paired with efficient work.

Cogency

Clarity is a superpower. Whether in ideas, communications, or execution, cogency is often the most underrated but impactful skill. This means that I always assume that there is a better, more efficient way to do something or communicate it.

Effort

The foundation of everything in this world- effort. I bring my energy into everything that I do, whether being watched or behind the scenes. This is because I live by the motto, what you do in anything is what you do in everything.

The growth plays.

digital succession toolkit

Borrowing and building on a play from Notion's go-to-market strategy, building a digital succession toolkit capitalizes on the imminent generational transfer of wealth and small businesses, and the flywheel effects of building quick-to-market tools for Durable's users.

creator challenge flywheel

The world needs to continue seeing Durable's magic to believe it. I am thinking of a challenge around starting a business in one hour, led by creators such as Codie Sanchez and other small business entrepreneurs. This would turn Durable into viral content and build a crucial moat through distribution and culture.
